Mary Vanderplank Somerset Levels Floods V print
A continuing source of inspiration has to be the notorious floods on the Somerset Levels but her work covers images from all over the West Country and beyond. Her compositions are hugely influenced by reflections on water and wet sands dramatised by stormy skies. Favourite haunts include the Somerset Levels, the beaches of Saunton and Putsborough in North Devon, the Dorset coast, the creeks around the Carrick Roads in Cornwall, Bryher and St Martins on the Scilly Isles and the Newlands Valley in the Lake District.
