Extra large Somerset Bowl

A Unique Somerset Bowl. Every son often I like to go back to the roots of an idea, To reset. This Bowl has "clumps"of reeds rather than a continuous line all round. I have also added a graded dark sky above the usual!!! light blue perfect sky we get all summer.

Our popular Somerset range is inspired by the colours  of the Somerset levels. The design is influenced especially by the reeds which grow along the sides of the rhynes which crisscross the levels landscapes. I grew up with this landscape and it is still one of my favourite places.

The bowl is coated with 3 different coloured glass powders while hot. The parison is then reheated to fuse all the colours in before we add the stringers and frits to give the piece it's unique design. The bowl is then sandblasted on the outside when cold to give it a matte finish.
